GROTTO NIGHTS: a series at the SF MAIN PUBLIC LIBRARY

  • San Francisco Main Public Library KORET ROOM (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

How lucky am I be on stage with fellow Grotto writer Britta Stromeyer, in a conversation that will probably include the awe that flight provokes, the physics that gets the heaviest of airliners aloft, some obscure but fascinating history, and the way flying offers perspective on grief and loss, and will meaningfully transform even those who are not pilots. You may already be a pilot or you may break into a sweat at the thought of travel plans that require passenger plane flight: this evening is for you.

FLYING SPOON CAFE at KSZP

Come hang out at Santa Paula airport’s onsite eatery, The Flying Spoon, and join local and author Laurel Braitman and me as we discuss the outdoors, dealing with grief, and flight. Stare out the window at the planes coming in and taking off and walk around a few cool ones while you’re at it. If you fly in on your own wings, all the better. Plenty of light to get back to your home airport after chatting with some 99s or checking out the Santa Paula Flying Musuem..
